The Belvedere Hotel Parnell Square — Dublin

The hotel is conveniently placed for the new look O'Connel Street and many of Dublin's favourite places. The staff were pleasant and cooperative but things weren't all that efficient. eg it took several calls before the empty soap container in the bathroom was replaced. The corridor carpet was very dirty and stained and gave an uncared for look to the building.

Nice room, very clean. Beds need improvement as ours was noticably sunken in in the middle causing us to roll over on ourselves. Breakfast was nice, but expensive. There are no convenient busses from this location to temple bar area, making it a hassle to walk in the rain, but right off of the main walkway through town. Service was good. Using internet was expensive... Why do so many hotels expect you to pay for internet? Only one computer in the middle of the lobby. Ok for the money.

Great location, great price. Staff helpful, able to leave luggage for 1/2 day until check in. Room comfortable, nice shower with plenty of hot water but had some minor power trouble with some of the lights and TV. Enjoyed the downstairs pub, friendly and pour a nice pint. It was a convenient spot to meet up with others and end the day. Would recommend it highly.

This hotel is in an excellent location. It was 3-4 minutes from O'Connell Street, and then 10 minutes from the river. The staff was very helpful with the room as well as helping us get around. I would recommend this hotel.

This hotel proved a good find for our midweek break. A short walk from Parnell Square and O'Connell Street. The rooms were clean & serviced daily. Plenty of restaurants & some notable attractions nearby. Parnell St has a large shopping centre.

The hotel staff were so friendly! Our room was by no means luxury, but when you're visiting Dublin, the whole idea is to be OUT of your room anyway. It was clean and the front desk people were very helpful with bus info, etc.

Liked the hotel, clean room, reasonable prices, friendly staff. The only problem is the rooms facing the street. During summer months since the rooms don't have AC you'll have to open up the window. Right under the hotel is a night club and if you know the Irish they tend to be a rowdy crowd so the noise will be constant at late hours. Request rooms away from the street during hot days (winter months s/b fine since you can close the window).

This hotel is central and cheap. What more do you want? The room was clean and the beds comfortable. Previous reviewers complained about the noise outside - well what are you doing going to bed early in Dublin?? A good stay in a vibrant city.

Stayed at the Belvedere 20th June. Staff friendly and helpful, excellent value for money in a very convenient location- tucked in a quiet street only a few minutes walk from O'connell Street one of the main shopping streets in Dublin. The Belvedere was let down by poor standard of room hygiene- i was glad i bought a pack of multiclean wipes as the room was dusty- there were spots on the furnishings that did not appear to be cleaned for a few weeks!! On the plus side rooms decent size and linen clean- would use it again(but will still bring my multipurpose wipes) MS

not bad location for o'connell street but much further than stated for o2 arena. also NO, NONE NOT ANY late night bar or service facilities "just use the vending machines" which are very expensive.

The room was quiet, tidy and clean with a spaceous bathroom. Staff were polite and helpful. Excellent location.

The staff was very helpful. The room was comfortable and quiet. Great neighborhood! For the money, it was a great deal. I would definitely stay here again.

I'm a seasoned traveler and I rarely complain but the bed was uncomfortable, the tv and safe didn't work, the spring loaded sink splashed water all over you, the hotel itself was very noisy at night and the surrounding area didn't seem to be very safe either. The location is also not very condusive to easy sightseeing in Dublin. We ended up staying only one of our five nights.

Nice Staff and clean hotel. Small rooms and no airconditioning. If you stay here, get a good rate.

i stayed at this hotel recently,while attending a concert in the o2.I found the hotel room comfortable+very spacious.staff were friendly +helpfull.the only complaint i would have would be regarding the facilities.I needed to use an iron+as there wasn't one in the room i had to go to the other end of the hotel+use the iron in the laundry room.Apart from this i found my stay in the belvedere hotel very pleasant

Location was fine a short stroll and in the thick of things but far enough away to be very quiet in the evenings. Bathroom was a little tired but spotless. Complimentary toiletries - so saves the battle through airport security. Complimentary tea and coffee always a bonus. Did not opt for breakfast so can't comment but WOULD stay again.

I was unsure of the location at first as I didn't know the area at all but I was pleasantly surprised when we got there and discovered it was a mere few blocks from everything. The pubs, the Spire, the buses, etc. The area was perfectly fine to walk in at night. The staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable and friendly. The room was MUCH larger than we had expected and the bathroom was clean and well-stocked. The only issue I had was that the hallway carpets of the hotel had stains and the they room cards kept deactivating themselves. We were there for 5 days and had to recharge the cards 4 times. Other than that, I would *HIGHLY* recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Dublin.

This is a great hotel for those on a budget seeking a three star hotel. The room is clean and the staff was very nice. The hotel doesn’t have air condition but they do have fans upon request. It is across the street from a lap dancing establishment but I always felt safe walking in the area. It’s in Parnell Square which is a good area. I recommend Candy’s Café for breakfast and lunch on a budget (corner of Denmark & O’Connell). They are quick efficient and very good. The hotel is off of O’Connell street. We took a direct bus to city center (two adults can get an all day bus pass from the airport for 10 euros). Once you get off the bus, you can start walking north towards Denmark Street. It’s a few blocks down the road. You take a left on Denmark street and the hotel will be on your right. They gave us a free upgrade to a family room (two twin beds and a double). The staff was very helpful in giving directions. We walked to the Temple Bar area, Dublin Castle, Trinity College, etc. We also took the DART to remote areas (Howth, just rode it along the coast, etc.). There is a main bus station off of O’Connell where you can get information. The bus system was confusing, so you need to get specific directions on which bus to take. I hope this is helpful!

great stay, breakfast reasonable 17 euros. central location. i would go back but dublin is a very expensive city.

Three of us stayed in one room. It was large by European standards. Not far from most sights. Definitely recommend the double decker sightseeing bus to get around city.

The good things about this hotel were the staff, they were friendly, polite, and eager to accomodate you. The location can't be beat as it is a short walk to O'Connell St. However if your room faces the street, you will deal with vehicle noise and the noise of pub crawlers. We were assigned one room, and in that room it was blazing hot because the heat couldn't be shut off or adjusted and there was no phone. We were moved to another room which faced the street.

The hotel was a couple of city blocks from the center, but definitely walkable (boy was I not in shape). The block it was on was quiet (more so than I thought it would be). The breakfasts are not included like other hotels, but for about 8 Euros, you can get a great continental breakfast. The Irish breakfast is more, but you get so much @ the continental. Bring artificial sweetener. I had a real chore finding some. What is also a wonderful touch is the electric teapot in the room w/teas & coffee, etc. Dublin (& Ireland) is very cool this time of year. Bring sweaters! The hotel has a lot of charm.

excellent price excellent location, right at the top of o'connell street, could walk everywhere, staff were really polite and friendly except one, which did spoil it slightly as all he needed to do was to explain himself and it would have been fine, would recommend to anyone travelling to dublin

Nice Room for the money. The pub downstairs is good and the room was relatively quiet. It's a little far North to walk to the Temple Bar area every night, but is at the top of O'Connel Street, so its very convenient to get to the center of that. Overall I was very pleased.

Have stayed in this hotel twice. Brilliant location...very handy to Croke Park forn concerts or sporting events. Very easily found when approaching City from North side. Staff very friendly and efficient. Rooms comfortable.Had quick pre-concert meal in bar before heading to concert -food excellent and good value. Will definitely use this hotel again.

Only stayed for 1 night, but hotel was great. Dublin is expensive to eat/drink in, so we found the continental breakfast good value. When we checked in we were offered it at a discounted rate of 5.5euros; it was buffet style with gorgeous freshly baked scones. Location of hotel was good too. Just enough out of the way, but only a few minutes walk from O'Connell street. Overall very impressed with hotel.

My boyfriend and I stayed in Belvedere for one night and went to a concert in the O2- location of Hotel is excellent just of Parnell Sq and about 25 min walkin distance to O2. It was very basic - rooms were clean and check out not til 12... only downside if you could say that is car park is a short distance from hotel (2min walk max). Excellent location for sightseeing/concert going etc.

Booked a room here after reading review's of how good it was, the reviews were absolutely spot on!! we stayed here 20th-22nd feb 2009. Our room was very clean & fresh, wasn't expecting it to be as large as it was considering it was only a standard double. Despite being a short break, the staff front of desk through to bar & restaurant were exceptional. Our return flight wasn't until the evening, so it was a great surprise to be told that it was no bother at all leaving our bags there in security until we needeed them. The hotel even offered to book us a taxi to the airport. Taxi fares to/from the airport to the hotel cost us 18euro's/20euro's respectively. So an absolutely enjoyable & comfortable stay was had by all.

i don't look for much in comfort in a hotel and this is good value, however if you are the sort who value a good nights sleep, stay away. There's a night club down stairs and the sound insulation is non existent. Also the car park is several streets away and a not a safe walk later on in the night. You do get half price parking 12 euros but parking is usually a given in most hotels.

The Belevedere Hotel is in a superb location. Upon check-in the staff were very polite and helpful and gave some good local advice on places to eat! However the room did not have double glazing and due to the central city location it was hard to sleep because of the noise outside!

Hotel well located and convenient. Staff was very accomodating. Allowed early check in; always helpful with inquiries, etc. Room quite, clean and comfortable despite its modest size. Considering the rate, this was a good value.

Would recommend this hotel to anyone. about 200m away from city centre staff we very good and room was cleaned out daily with new towels etc.

The Belvedere was a great place to stay. 10 minute walk to Trinity College. The walk to Trinity College area is full of shopping and places to eat. The staff was friendly and very helpful. When I go back to Dublin, this hotel will be on my list and if it is available I would stay again.

i found the hotel staff friendly and helpful and especially appreciated having an elevator to help load luggage. room was small yet met all our needs. i would recommend this hotel to others.

After seeing other good reviews we booked this hotel hoping for a good wedding anniversary stay, and we were not disappointed. We checked in an hour early - not a problem. We wanted a quiet room - not a problem. The staff were friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. The TV aerial cable had broken because the tv had been pushed back against it, and that was replaced within 5 minutes, followed by a phoen call from reception to make sure it had been done and that we were happy. The continental breakfast was good and reasonably priced, but we didn't eat at the restaurant otherwise. The hotel is in a great location - just far enough out of the main centre to be quiet and close enough to walk or hop on one of the thousands of busses round the corner. The room was very comfortable (Double & Single) with a lovely bathroom and fantastic shower! Everything was clean and tidy and having a safe in the room was handy too. We have absolutely no complaints with this hotel. If we're back in Dublin, we'll stay there for sure.

I suppose this hotel was decent by European standards. It is a close walk to O'Connell Street which was nice. It was a quick 20 minute walk to temple bar area and a few other tourist attractions. It seemed like a pretty safe area during the day, but not the best. Walking home from the bar at night wasn't recommended by any of the locals, so being 2 girls in a strange city we opted for cabs at night. Walking around in the daytime was fine. The heater in the room didn't work, but the staff did bring a portable one up. It was an Okay hotel, but i don't think i would stay there again.

Overall I was happy with the Belvedere but there were a few downsides. First of all the tv in the room didn't work which didn't really bother me since I wasn't there for tv watching but it would've been nice if it worked. Also it is quite noisy due to street noise so that could be an issue for some light sleepers. Finally the location is good but I wish I would have been able to get my first hotel selection a little closer to Temple Bar. Not a bad place to stay though for the money and still within walking distance of lots of cool stuff.

I really enjoyed the hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The only problem I had with the hotel is it is a little noisy on the street and the windows are not very thick. I think having a pair of ear plugs would solve that problem. The hotel is within walking distance of many of the attractions in Dublin. This was a great hotel and I would stay there again if I go back to Dublin.

Great economical place to stay in Dublin. The room was a nice size and the bathroom was much larger than I expected. We were really close to everything that we wanted to do and to the bus and train stations. The staff was super nice and very helpful. My Mom hurt her arm when we were there and they were very nice about making sure we had everything that we needed. I would definitely recommend you check out this hotel for your stay in Ireland, especially for the price.

Good location, convenient to Croke Park. Went for Neil Diamond concert- 5-10 min walk from the stadium. Comfortable room- did not have breakfast as time was against us but appeared to be reasonably priced. Friendly atmosphere in hotel bar.

Decent location just off the main O'Connell Street drag, about a 5-10 minute walk to the River and the cooler Temple Bar area. The hotel is very plain and the room was subpar in terms of their condition. There were spots of peeling paint in the room and a couple areas of spots on the ceiling which I don't really want to know what it is (mold perhaps?). There was decent elbow room and the beds were comfortable, although very plain - just a (albeit warm) duvet cover over the mattress cover. The bathroom seemed to have been remodeled recently and was the nicest aspect of the room by far. Nice, modern bathroom fixtures and a good shower. The worst aspect was when we were opening drawers in the desk and in the lower desk drawer there was, believe it or not, a cup that contained 3-4 disgusting cigarette butts and ash. This was supposed to be a nonsmoking room, so this was a very bad thing to find indeed. We reported it to the desk, and while they apologized and had it removed promptly, there was no offer for any compensation (e.g., discount on the room, free breakfast, maybe even just a free drink in the hotel bar) so that was somewhat disappointing too.

The hotel was pleasant enough, but the LAP Dancing club just across the street was very noisy on Fri, Sat, and Sun nights. Party went on until 3:00 a.m. Parking can also be a real problem. Make sure you get driving directions because the Belvedere is very hard to find. Otherwise, very nice Pub/Restaurant attached to the hotel, location is a bit of a walk but central to most of Dublin, hotel very clean.

Første inntrykk: hotellet lå litt for langt unna kjernen, og da i "feil retning". Andre inntrykk: litt "bob-bob" hotell, gulvet i resepsjonsområdet ga etter og det var mye smale ganger og mange dører for å komme frem til rommet. Tredje inntrykk: rommet var riktignok verken fint eller "lækkert", men i hvert fall stort. Hadde en dobbelseng og en enkelseng (hvor vi hadde klærne våre da det manglet skapplass på rommet...). Sengene var harde og vonde. Putene om mulig enda hardere. Vi sov utrolig dårlig, noe som passet svært dårlig når vi var der nettopp for å slappe av. Tven var så dårlig at bildet var nesten helt mørkt uansett innstilling (ok, tv er kanskje en bagatell for noen, men jammen vært å nevne). Rommet (som hadde vegg-til-vegg teppe) ble ikke støvsuget en eneste gang under vårt miniukes opphold og veggene var møkkete. Badet var dårlig vedlikeholdt og litt ekkelt med dusjforheng som "alle andre" også har klistret seg inntil før oss. Når jeg spurt hvilken buss vi kunne ta for å komme oss hjem til hotellet svarte hotell-damen at det var helt umulig å svare på for det var så mange forskjellige busser og hun visste jo ikke hvor vi skulle ta den fra (enda jeg nevnte et par eksempler). Vi trodde vi kom til et hotell som holdt en viss standard, men sammenligner dette med de billigste London-hotellene vi har bodd på (og de som har vært i London vet at det ikke er et kompliment...!).

Veldig flott hotell, og er veldig imponert over kjempegod service fra personalet. Eneste minus var at en i reisefølget ble frastjålet kamera, mobil og lommebok samt en dsel andre saker midt i resepsjonen, men det kan ikke hotellet lastes for. Vi fikk veldig god service blant annet ifm politianmeldelse og leting på overvåkningskamera, er veldig fornøyd med personalet. Kommer gjerne tilbake! Store, pene rom. Hvis man ikke bestiller hotell med frokost inkludert så vil jeg ikke anbefale å spise på hotellet, var for dyrt ift hva man fikk.

Bra standard til å være 3 stjerners; rent rom & bad og bare 5 min å gå til O'Conell street. Ikke noe problemer med å anbefale dette hotellet.

L'hotêl est très bien situé, mais je suis déçu par la qualité des ses prestations: pas de chauffage dans la chambre, ménage de la chambre baclé, moisissures dans le coin de la douche, des traces noires sur les murs,...

L'hôtel Belvedere est très bien situé au nord du centre ville. Le Bus 16A ( 2.20 € l'aller) en provenance de l'aéroport s'arrête juste à deux pas de l'hôtel ( Parnell square). Très bon départ si vous êtes un bon marcheur!!! Le seul point négatif est la chaleur de la chambre, pas de climatisation ...
